Our WSET alumni tasting Australian gems

Last night, we had the pleasure of welcoming back our Winevox WSET alumni for a wonderful evening of exchange and connection, alongside our team of educators: Xavier Lacombe, Martine Bounet, Thomas Rew DipWSET, and Minette Constant MW.
The goal: to support our students as they take the next step in their professional journey — WSET Level 3.

This gathering was a great opportunity to share advice, experiences, and strengthen bonds within the Winevox community.

The highlight of the evening was a masterclass led by Emma Thienpont (International First Growths), dedicated to premium Australian wines.
Understanding Australia’s diverse wine regions is an essential part of the Wine & Spirit Education Trust learning journey.

We had the privilege of tasting six outstanding wines:

  • Frankland Estate Isolation Ridge Riesling 2024

  • Jim Barry Wines Florita Riesling Clare Valley 2015

  • Mount Mary Quintet Yarra Valley 2016

  • Octavius Barossa Shiraz 2020

  • Octavius Barossa Shiraz 2009

  • Armagh Clare Valley Shiraz 2022

A big thank you to EBBS Business School, Sabine Metreau, and Julia Triboire for hosting us in perfect conditions.
And thank you to everyone who joined this convivial and enriching evening. We hope this experience inspires you to continue your WSET adventure with Winevox!
